Ms. Ford has been an educator for 35 years and is a very recent retiree. She began her career as an English/Language Arts Educator and most recently was the high school Library Media Specialist at Memorial High School, Campbell City School District, Ohio. Of those 35 years, 23 were spent in the English classroom and 13 years in the library, retiring in July of 2006. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Notre Dame College of Ohio in 1971 and her Master in Library Science from Kent State University in 1976. Ms. Ford has updated her coursework at Kent State University as well as Youngstown State University where she is also an Adjunct Faculty member in the English and Education Departments. Ms. Ford is a past president of the Ohio Council Teachers of English Language Arts and received its Outstanding English Language Arts Educator Award in 2001. She is an active member of the Ohio Educational Library Media Association and was a member of the Alignment Committee for the Ohio School Library Guidelines. Ms. Ford contributed to the High School American Literature Room.
