Mrs. Gerspacher has been an educator for 26 years. She began her career as an English teacher at Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio in 1979, teaching students in grades 9-12.  While at Alter, she received the Teacher of the Year Award in 1994. Kay has spent the past 12 years of her career as a high school librarian for Xenia Community Schools in Xenia, Ohio. Her current duties there include teaching students’ information literacy skills and computer software applications.  Kay received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Wright State University and a Master’s in Educational Media also from Wright State.  When she is not teaching, Kay works part time in both the Youth Services and Reference Departments of the Washington Centerville Public Library.  She is a member of the Ohio Educational Library Media Association.  Kay contributed to the High School Children & Young Adult Literature Room.
