Charlie Reed-Mundell has been an educator for 6 years, following a career change. She has spent the past 6 years as the librarian at Sunbeam School, which serves a majority population of students with diverse disabilities in addition to regular education students. At Sunbeam, part of the Cleveland Municipal School District in Cleveland, Ohio, Charlie has built and automated the library collection. Her teaching responsibilities include information literacy, instructional technology, public speaking, and poetry for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 8. Charlie received her MEd from Kent State University in 2001 with a concentration in instructional technology. Her Bachelor of Arts in anthropology was earned in 1980 from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst. Charlie is a member of the American Library Association and Ohio Educational Library Media Association, and an alumna of the Education Policy Fellowship Program of the Institute for Educational Leadership. In her previous career as a writer and editor, Charlie won numerous awards in both print publications and radio broadcast, including three Ohio Excellence in Journalism awards from 1999 to 2001. Charlie contributed to the Middle School Government & Citizenship Room.
