Heather has been an educator for 16 years. She began her career as a preschool teacher for Summit County Schools in 1990 and in 1993 became the Library Media Specialist for the Coventry Local School District in Akron, Ohio, teaching 5th-8th grade students. Heather has spent the past three years of her career as the Library Media Specialist at Old Trail School, an independent school in Bath, Ohio. Her library media responsibilities include toddler and preschool story-times and K-5 library media skills. Heather received her Master's in Library Science from Kent State University in 1993 with K-12 certification in library/media and her Bachelor of Science in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1990 with early childhood PreK-3 certification. Heather has continued her education with an interest in web design, WebQuests, the Super3 and Big6 research models, drama, and storytelling. She is a member of the American Library Association, American Association of School Librarians, Ohio Educational and Library Media Association, as well as an actor with the Prodigal Players at Christ Church Episcopal, Hudson, OH. Heather contributed to the Elementary School Art & Theater Room.
