Mrs. Schlotterer has been an educator for 20 years.  She began her career as a kindergarten teacher in the Oberlin City School District, Oberlin, Ohio in 1985 teaching kindergarten students. Denee spent four years as the Director and Teacher of the Ashland University Laboratory Preschool.  She recently was a Reading Intervention Coach for grades 1-4 for all five of the elementary schools in Ashland City School District, Ashland, Ohio.  She is currently teaching first grade for the 11th year at Taft Elementary School, Ashland City School District. Mrs. Schlotterer received her bachelors degree from Kent State University with certification in early childhood education. In 1996 she received her Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Kent State University. Denee became a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Childhood-Generalist in 2000. She is a member of the International Reading Association and the Ohio Council of Teachers of English and Language Arts.
Mrs. Schlotterer contributed to the Elementary School Speech Room.
